Sea kayaking, being an adventurous activity, is an ideal medium to conduct outdoor adventure learning programs. It has an easy entry level for participants, swimmers and non-swimmers alike and it combines fun, excitement, uncertainty and challenge. All the essential elements to a rounded outdoor adventure learning program. Sea kayaking depends on mutual support and trust in fellow paddlers to maintain that vital safety margin. Teamwork and trust are essential elements.

Our kayaking program does not only cover the basic syllabus for Singapore Canoe Federation 1 & 2-STAR certification. Our goal is to develop actual confidence and competence for the student to engage in kayaking himself. Our program therefore, includes other subject matter beyond the set syllabus that empowers students to actually take a kayak out for short near-shore expeditions.

Kayaking Certification

1-Star Kayaking Certification Course

The course does not only cover the paddling skills but also Sea Navigation Skills & Seamanship, Kayak Health & Safety, Outdoors Adaptability & Communication Skills. Asian Detours stresses on the true competency of our students hence we have specially designed our courses to ensure that students are imparted with outdoor and kayak-related skills beyond mere kayaking strokes and capsize drills. This way, they can be emancipated and are capable of pursing kayaking as a sport in their own stride after they have completed our courses.

Our 1 Star Kayaking Certification Course is a SEP (Sports Education Programme).

2-Star Kayaking Certification Course

Asian Detours' 2 Star Kayaking course is specially designed to take the Beginner Kayakers who have completed 1 Star Certification to the next level in the appreciation of rescue techniques in particular as we prepare these budding sea kayakers for their upcoming sea kayak expeditions.

Kayaking Expeditions

Asian Detours has two kayaking centers based in Changi and Pulau Ubin; excellent launch off sites for kayaks to various expedition destinations.
