Asian Detours believes that the best way to learn is through real and practical experience. We believe that while it is possible to learn in the classroom, real understanding is achieved in practical application.

In this day and age of hectic schedules, school children have limited time resources to spend in the outdoors. Therefore, we are committed to developing truly valuable programs with the vision of instilling minimum levels of confidence and competence in every activity we provide.

We aim to leave an enduring mark on participants through "certification" courses rather than just "introductory" level activities, and we often set our own standards beyond the compulsory course syllabus set by certification boards. Our reasons being that we fully desire to develop a minimum level of competence in participants to confidently engage in the activity in future.

The field experience having a longer-lasting impact, we see longer-termed effects of prolonged improvement in applied learning, subject interest and focus in our students.
